Your First Try with Trailfinders Women – A day of rugby, role models and World Cup action!

On Friday, August 22ndTrailfinders Women & Ealing Trailfinders will host a free rugby development event at Trailfinders Sports Ground for girls aged 9 to 16, aimed at introducing young athletes to the sport in a fun, inclusive, and empowering environment. The event, proudly sponsored by Arnold Hill, is part of the Trailfinders Girls Rugby Programme, and is open to all skill levels—no prior rugby experience required.

Led by Trailfinders Women’s professional players, the session promises expert coaching, team-building activities, and a unique opportunity to learn directly from some of the sport’s rising stars. Every participant will receive a free Trailfinders Girls Rugby T-shirt as a memento of the day.

Following the on-field session from 5 – 6:30, attendees and their families are invited to enjoy food in the clubhouse and connect with players from the Trailfinders Women’s squad starting at 6:45. The evening will culminate in a live screening of the opening match of the Women’s Rugby World Cup: England vs. USA—a game that may feature some of Ealing Trailfinders’ very own athletes on the world stage. Kick-off is at 7:45.

Adding to the excitement, there will be a halftime Q&A session with Trailfinders players, offering young fans a chance to ask questions and hear firsthand what it takes to succeed in professional rugby.

“This event is about more than just rugby,” said Kate Zackary, Trailfinders Women’s Player and Girls Rugby Coach. “It’s about building confidence, creating community, and showing young girls that there’s a place for them in sport—whether they’re picking up a rugby ball for the first time or dreaming of playing for their country.”
